Mother nature- particularly the element of water, and the human figure have always been my two main muses. What draws me to create is the opportunity to open up the eyes of the viewer to the beauty we often times don’t see in the world, in humanity, and in ourselves. Through my artwork I am able to express a stronger sense of appreciation and passion for taking care of our planet and ourselves. So much in this life is worth celebrating. The resilience and vulnerability within humankind is absolutely astonishing to me.
Often times it feels as though pressure has been placed in our society to appear a certain way. My desire is to capture a moment exactly as it is- raw and real. Not how one expects to see something, enhanced, skewed and edited. I want the viewer to find my work relatable and to find a deeper understanding of connectivity with the world around them. Photographing someone in their most natural state- that being nude, grants us the space to recognize and honor all that we are and all that we share in common with one another.
